ADMISSIONS IS OPEN TO: Graduates of accredited high schools. Transfer students from other colleges and universities. Students 18 years of age, or older, who have not completed high school or received a GED and demonstrate an ability to benefit from college offerings through an evaluation. Students who are at least 16 years old and have been officially released from their home high school and demonstrate an ability to benefit from college offerings. Current high school (Junior and Senior) students recommended by their principal. Other requirements may be necessary for acceptance into a particular program or course. ADMISSIONS APPLICATION Application for admission should be received by the Admissions office before the start of the program in which the student wishes to enroll TRANSCRIPTS High School: All students seeking a Arturo Velasquez West Side Technical Institute certificate must have their high school/GED transcript sent to the Admissions and Records Office prior to or at the time of enrollment. To be considered official, the Admissions and Records Office must receive official transcripts directly from each school. Transcripts from foreign countries must be certified and translated into English in order to be accepted by the Institute. ASSESSMENT/PLACEMENT Students enrolling at Arturo Velasquez West Side Technical Institute for the first time should contact the Admissions Office at (773) 843-4500 to arrange a date and time for placement testing and orientation. |
