English as a Second Language ESL information line: 773.838.7960 The Daley College Adult Education Program offers sixteen-week preparatory courses (fourteen weeks in the summer) for adults whose native language is not English. Classes are provided FREE OF CHARGE. Requirements: Students must be at least 19 years of age. Students who are 16, 17 or 18 years of age may also enroll if they provide written verification that they are no longer enrolled in a secondary educational program. At registration, each student must provide a photograph identification card and ONE form of identification at registration to verify current address in the State of Illinois. Acceptable forms of identification are the following:
Classes: Morning Classes: Mondays through Thursdays 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM Afternoon Classes: Mondays through Thursdays 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM Evening Classes: Mondays through Thursdays 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM Saturday Classes: Saturdays 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM Registration: English as a Second Language (ESL) placement testing and registration is done by appointment. The placement test for morning, afternoon, evening and Saturday classes is given on several dates during each sixteen-week semester (fourteen weeks in the summer semester). In addition to completing the placement examination, each student will also attend an orientation session and complete a registration form. Placement testing appointments must be made in person at the college. Placement testing appointments are made on a first-come, first-served basis.
