International Students
To enroll in Daley College or Arturo Velasquez Institute, international students must pursue a full-time course of study toward a specific educational goal. Students may apply for admission by following the steps below:
- Request an information packet in one of three ways:

International Student Admission Application Form - Transcripts for secondary school work and any college credit earned outside the United States must be translated and reviewed through
the International Student Evaluation Process - Candidates for admission must also mail notarized or true copies of transcripts to Daley’s Office of Admissions at the address above.
- Prospective students must include a $100.00 non-refundable certified check or money order (U.S. currency) with his or her application for admission.
- Prospective students must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) examination and submit a TOEFL report Minimum passing scores are 450 for a paper-based test or 133 for a computer-based exam.
- Depending on the specific course of study at Daley College, placement tests will be required as they are for all domestic students.
- Individuals may be required to take credit ESL to enhance their proficiency in the English language.
- Candidates must submit to Daley College a notarized form I – 134 Affidavit of Support. This verifies that the sponsor, or the student (if self-sponsored), has sufficient financial resources to be admitted to the United States. Sponsors must have a minimum of $15,000 and self-sponsored students must have a minimum of $30,000.
Bank Account Verification form - Sponsors must provide the College with a letter verifying employment with income of $30,000 or greater.
Employment Verification form - Candidates must present their original I-94 (Arrival & Departure) card.
After Acceptance
- Fill out the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services Form 1-20, which may be obtained from Daley’s Office of Admissions. The form facilitates registration, and furnishes students with a SEVP identification number.
- After being admitted to Daley College or Arturo Velasquez Institute, each international student must be registered on the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP)
- Students residing outside the U.S. must present the completed form I-20 (or Certificate of Eligibility) to a U.S. Counsel or U.S. Embassy official to obtain a student, or F-1 visa.
- Individuals currently residing in the U.S. on B-1 / B-2 visitor status may not study here. They must return to their home countries and apply for admission, and for an F-1 visa, from outside the U.S.
- Students currently in the U.S. on other dependent visas may be eligible to study here without changing status to F-1. (A, L, E and H visas, for example).
- International students wishing to transfer to Daley College from another U.S. educational institution must obtain a release from that school’s Designated School Official (DSO) or Principal Designated School Official (PDSO).
- Upon enrollment at Daley College, international students must show proof of, or purchase from the College, health insurance.

Employment Verification Form - Students must keep their passports valid and meet all other conditions for maintaining F-1 student visa status.
Maintaining F-1 Student Status Form - While tuition is the same for all international students, overall expenses will vary with the type of courses elected, lodging chosen and number of dependants the student has.

Tuition for International Students
The following tuition and fees, adopted by the Board of Trustees of Community College District No. 508, are effective 2005 Summer Semester. Any and all of these are subject to change at any time by the Board of Trustees.
