Adult Education

The Adult Education Program at Richard J. Daley College offers tuition-free classes to adults in:

Approximately 5,400 students are enrolled in over 220 class sections each semester. Approximately 3,000 students are enrolled on campus, approximately 1,700 at the Arturo Velasquez Institute, and over 600 students attend classes at off-campus locations.

The mission of the Adult Education Program of the City Colleges of Chicago is to provide adults with preparatory and developmental instruction in Adult Basic Education (ABE), Citizenship, English as a Second Language (ESL), and/or General Educational Development (GED) to meet students' individual goals. Individual goals may include post-secondary education, employment skills training, and/or personal and career enhancement.

The Daley Adult Education Program Office (Room 502, Building 500) is open:

Monday - Thursday: 8:00 a.m. - 9:45 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Saturday: 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Staff members who speak English, Arabic, Lithuanian, Polish, Russian and Spanish are available to assist students with program inquiries.

For the purpose of compliance with Section 511 of Public Law 101-166 (the Stevens Amendment), it is hereby stated that a percentage of federal funds is used to support the provision and promotion of the instructional services offered through the Adult Education Program at Richard J.
