The Daley College Adult Education Program offers sixteen-week preparatory courses (fourteen weeks in the summer) for adults who wish to improve their basic skills and/or take the General Educational Development examination leading to a high school equivalency diploma. Classes are provided FREE OF CHARGE.
Requirements:
Students must be at least 19 years of age and MUST NOT have a high school diploma. Students who are 16, 17 or 18 years of age may also enroll if they provide written verification (a signed document from the high school last attended, not a transcript) that they are no longer enrolled in a secondary educational program.
At registration, each student must provide a photograph identification card and ONE form of identification at registration to verify current address in the State of Illinois. Acceptable forms of identification are the following:
- driver's license or state ID card
- voter's registration card
- electric bill, gas bill, phone bill (need not be in student's name)
- vehicle sticker application
- credit card account statement (not credit cards)
- bank account statement (not checks)
- Mediplan monthly statement
- copy of a lease or house deed
- Foreign consulate ID card
Students will not be tested or registered without providing the required documents.
Class Schedules
The schedule (depending upon placement scores at registration) is as follows:
Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday; 9:00AM to 11:00AM, 11:15AM to 1:15PM
Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday; 5:30PM to 7:30PM, 7:45PM to 9:45PM
Saturdays (For students with high level scores in both reading and math); 9:00AM to 1:00PM
Registration
A placement test in reading and math is required for all students. The placement test takes approximately three hours and is given on a first-come, first-served basis. Students will be registered for classes after they complete placement examinations and attend MANDATORY ORIENTATION SESSIONS. English as a Second Language

Requirements:
Students must be at least 19 years of age. Students who are 16, 17 or 18 years of age may also enroll if they provide written verification that they are no longer enrolled in a secondary educational program.

Morning Classes: Mondays through Thursdays 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Afternoon Classes: Mondays through Thursdays 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM
Evening Classes: Mondays through Thursdays 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM
Saturday Classes: Saturdays 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Registration:
English as a Second Language (ESL) placement testing and registration is done by appointment. The placement test for morning, afternoon, evening and Saturday classes is given on several dates during each sixteen-week semester (fourteen weeks in the summer semester). In addition to completing the placement examination, each student will also attend an orientation session and complete a registration form. Placement testing appointments must be made in person at the college. Placement testing appointments are made on a first-come, first-served basis.

Citizenship Classes

The Daley College Adult Education Program offers sixteen-week preparatory courses (fourteen weeks in the summer) for adults preparing to take the USA Naturalization/Citizenship examination. Classes are provided FREE OF CHARGE.
Requirements:
Students must be at least 19 years of age. Students who are 16, 17 or 18 years of age may also enroll if they provide written verification that they are no longer enrolled in a secondary educational program.
At registration, each student must provide photograph identification card and ONE form of identification at registration to verify current address in the State of Illinois.
