Making College Affordable
Richard J. Daley College and Arturo Velasquez Institute is committed to providing an equal educational opportunity for all students. Our staff is available to help you with financial aid counseling, general information, application procedures and other related issues. In addition, you can contact the Financial Aid Office at Daley campus at (773) 838-7581 or Arturo Velasquez Institute campus (773) 843-4622 (8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.) or visit us in the Office of Student Services, located in Room 1111 at Daley College, or Arturo Velasquez Institute.

Financial Aid Overview
The Richard J. Daley and Arturo Velasquez Institute Financial Aid Office is responsible for administering and coordinating aid funds from federal, state and campus based programs. The primary goal of the Financial Aid Office is to provide financial assistance to applicants who would otherwise be unable to attend Richard J. Daley College or Arturo Velasquez Institute.

To apply for financial aid, students must first complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov. You must list Richard J. Daley College or Arturo Velasquez Institute as one of your schools of choice.  Our school code is 001649.

The following documents are required when visiting the Financial Aid Office for FAFSA application assistance:

  • Proof of Citizenship or U.S. entry status (acceptable documents for proof of citizenship are birth certificate, voter's registration card, U.S. passport, permanent resident or resident alien card, or statement of Asylum Granted)
  • Original Social Security card
  • Signed Federal Tax Return from the prior year (form 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ, and if married, that of the spouse, or if dependent upon parents, that of the parents), or a Public Aid Green Card, or Unemployment, Social Security or Veterans Benefits statement for the preceding year and the award year.
